Mercury free catalytic reforming to vinyl chloride has passed the appraisal

recently, the China Federation of petroleum and chemical industry organized a scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for Dezhou Shihua acetylene and dichloroethane mercury free catalytic synthesis of vinyl chloride (100 ton level) new process project in Dezhou. The experts at the meeting believed that this process has the advantages of environmental protection, less investment, low energy consumption and easy industrialization. The products of most enterprises are concentrated in the low end, which solves the problem of mercury pollution in the traditional process and opens up a new way of mercury free production of PVC

the project was jointly completed by Dezhou Shihua Chemical Co., Ltd., Shanghai Institute of advanced research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhongke Yigong (Xiamen) Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., creatively opening up a vinyl chloride production process line suitable for China's national conditions. Enterprises urgently need to speed up the pace of transformation and upgrading. At present, new compounds certainly need their high strength. The traditional calcium carbide process widely used in China to produce PVC resin not only consumes high energy and cannot guarantee the supply of calcium carbide, but also the mercury containing catalyst that must be added to its process has become a bottleneck and technical problem restricting the development of the industry
